Position Summary
The Litigation Supervisor oversees the daily management of litigated claims, providing leadership and technical guidance to Litigation Examiners. This role ensures claims are handled timely, accurately, strategically, and in compliance with company guidelines and applicable regulations. The Supervisor also manages defense counsel, litigation expenses, reserves, evaluations, settlements, mediations, trials, and high-exposure matters.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the litigation inventory and ensure timely suit referrals, deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Monitor complex, aging, and high-exposure claims and escalate significant issues to Claims Management.
- Review liability, damages, coverage, reserves, evaluations, and settlement strategies.
- Guide examiners on litigation strategy, negotiations, and claim resolution.
- Manage relationships and performance of defense counsel.
- Conduct file reviews to ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and proper claim handling.
- Monitor reserves and exposure and ensure updates are made following significant claim developments.
- Ensure files are prepared for mediations and trials.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, training, and performance management to Litigation Examiners.
- Monitor inventory, deadlines, settlement opportunities, counsel reporting, and examiner activities.
- Promote accountability, productivity, professional communication, and timely claim resolution.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Texas Adjuster License or ability to obtain one.
- At least 5 years of claims experience, preferably in bodily injury and/or litigated auto claims.
- Strong knowledge of liability, damages, negotiations, litigation, and reserving.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Preferred:
- Prior supervisory or claims leadership experience.
- Texas nonstandard personal auto experience.
- Experience managing defense counsel, mediations, depositions, trials, and high-exposure claims.

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
